When Air Lift introduced the 3p / 3H they changed the air management game forever. For ten years it has been the most widely sold air management in the world! By all accounts it was technically perfect. Bluetooth and back up hand controller, only system to feature leak detection, only system with built in pressure sensors on all four corners, a gyroscope for even up and down, Five presets, easy three wire install with plug n play harnesses. What more could a tuner ask for? Not much. After ten years though it was time for a change, an upgrade, a re fresh and man oh man did Air Lift deliver!
Introducing the all NEW ALP4!
Where to start where to start! so many new features on ALP4! Ok ok I got my head back on straight over here...let us start with aesthetics, the look, the feel. Starting with the valve block, it comes already tricked out! A two-tiered level cover with sixteen color changing LED lighting, a removeable Air Lift logo plate for personalization revealing a superman style light up diamond backing. It is ready for the show right out of the box! Now, moving to the hand controller. Let us just say its BEEFY, STURDY, STYLISH! The case is black anodized aluminum a full centimeter thick and weighted similar to a current iPhone max. Ready for magnet style phone holders to get the best position in your cockpit. You think that’s cool... hold my beer! it’s a 3.5 inch high definition TOUCH SCREEN! with super bright display. Three times brighter than the 3p and its adjustable. You can also change the colors of the back light to match the block! Font is also adjustable. The ALP4 hand control also feature four quick buttons for fast access to presets. Guess what?? both the valve block and the hand controller use the same harness and cable, so it is a simple swap! No need to rewire or disassemble your current set up. Just swap out and go!
With all these good looks Air Lift packed the ALP4 with a ton of new and improved tech! I am going to seriously date myself with this analogy for sure.... The new ALP4 is like the 6 Million Dollar Man, better, stronger faster! There is so much new here the best way to show you is these bullet points from Air Lift themselves:
*Pressure-based air management system with all-in-one manifold with ECU, solenoids, and pressure sensors built in for cleaner installs and fewer fail points
*Upgradable to a height-based air management system by incorporating our Height Upgrade Kit
*Anodized black billet aluminum manifold block with LED-lit top cover and rotatable logo plate
*Threaded ¼” MNPT manifold ports compatible with included PTC fittings or any ¼" male-threaded fittings
*5-inch full-color touchscreen controller with anodized aluminum case, 4 physical buttons, and auto-dimming ambient light sensor
*Adjustable LED colors for manifold cover, controller backlight, and buttons (8-16 selectable options)
*Plug-and-play harness for easy install, only needing power, ground, and keyed ignition; drop-in upgrade for existing 3P/3H setups
*Free mobile app with improved connectivity and a user-friendly interface for full system control
*Pressure-based system with optional upgrade to height-based control via Pressure-to-Height Upgrade Kit
*Built-in diagnostics with clear, easy-to-understand system messages
*Compressor performance test and diagnostics to track and benchmark compressor health
*Adjustable pulse rate for fine-tuning system responsiveness
*Valet Mode with customizable lockout settings
*Improved ride adjustment algorithms with learning and road filtering
*Show Mode which allows full use of the system with the vehicle off for one ignition cycle
*Standby mode which allows wireless connectivity and use of the system with the vehicle off for an adjustable period of time, with the controller, LED lighting, and compressor disabled for minimum power draw
*Adjustable presets maintain sensitivity (high, medium, low)
*Slow Lift/Lower Zone for pulsed movement near minimum ride height to manage ground contact smoothly
Some key features caught my attention and deserve highlighting. Valet Mode, how many times have you had to valet your ride and tell the valet don’t mess with the air controller but you know they could not resist. Now, no problem, just lock them out with valet mode. Another impressive feature is the Compressor Crank Offset, sounds complex but it’s not. This simply gives you the ability to delay the ALP4 ecu from starting so you do not overload or overdraw power during start up. As we know a lot of our custom builds have stereos, high flow electric fuel pumps, electric fans all which draw a ton of power at start up. This delay feature is brilliant. Air compressors always fail or malfunction at the worst time. Air Lift thought of that as well with a new compressor performance testing mode. Get ahead of a failure before it happens by running regular testing of your compressor’s performance. This will allow you to see if it is ready for a rebuild, if it’s drawing too much power, may need a new check valve etc..
More, More, More! Air Lifts team simply did not sleep during development of the new ALP4. The 3p as good as it is still carries older tech. Air Lift has improved upon all the things that may have bugged you a bit in the 3p. Connectivity is vastly improved with a substantially longer range for connectivity along with a single intuitive app. Preset accuracy is massively improved and has 3 settings , high, medium and low to prevent hunting. The old calibration step is hasta la vista baby gone! Even as you’re driving the learning algorithm is vastly improved.
Needless to say, if your new to air ride or a seasoned tuner the new ALP4 will impress. I am personally looking forward to playing with the ALP4 as we build our Mercedes Metris shop van into a showstopper. It will feature a one of one body kit in the US along with a whole lot of other goodies. Going to be one of the best-looking shop vans out there! Especially slammed out with the ALP4.
